I was dancing barefoot. My sandals were abandoned over by the antique stomping vat. The music was slow and romantic. There were couples all around but I was being held in the firm grasp of my father-in-law’s best friend. I caught smiles and playful glares from Gail, who was in the clutches of my father-in-law right then. I wasn’t sure whether the two old boys planned it, but they walked over from their old people gathering and cut in on the guys dancing with us two birthday girls at the same time.
The lights were a little lower now too and a lot of people had gone home so there wasn’t the crowd around the dance floor watching us dance. No one was watching actually. There were just a few groups seated around tables involved in their own conversations.
I could see my husband was watching though and I was thrilled to be in the arms of the older man we’d talked about allowing to have sex with me.
