If you’ve studied the JFK Assassination for any period of time, you surely know Doug Horne. He served on the staff of the Assassination Records Review Board for the final 3 years of its 4 year lifespan, from August of 1995 through September of 1998. He was hired as a Senior Analyst on the Military Records Team, and was later promoted to head that team. In that role, Doug obtained and declassified military records related to Cuba and Vietnam policy, and worked extensively in the medical evidence arena. He also served as the ARRB’s point man on issues related to the Zapruder film. We have the tenacity of Doug Horne to thank for many of the key declassifications in this case. What was the role of the FBI – if any – in President Kennedy’s death? When we talk about the FBI, the starting point has to be J. Edgar Hoover. The main questions I want to answer about Hoover are whether he had foreknowledge or involvement in a plot to kill President Kennedy, and whether he knowingly participate in a cover-up of the assassination. In this episode, we review Bolden’s claim that, on November 2, 1963, in addition to a potential threat from lone gunman, Thomas Arthur Vallee, there was also a failed plot against President Kennedy in Chicago by four men who had rifles. Bolden says that the Secret Service covered up the Chicago plot, and then, when he tried to come forward to the Warren Commission, he was framed for a crime, which resulted in him serving time in prison.
