NH Governor Kelly Ayotte on Good Morning NH 1-10-2025

New Hampshire has a new governor. Former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte was sworn in yesterday as the 83rd Governor of New Hampshire. Ayotte succeeds fellow Republican Chris Sununu, who decided against seeking a fifth two-year term. During her campaign, Ayotte promised to continue Sununu’s anti-tax, pro-business economic policies. In her inaugural speech yesterday, Ayotte said that she would keep New Hampshire on a prosperous path, but warned that belt-tightening would be necessary as lawmakers write the next two-year budget. Governor Ayotte spoke to the Pulse of NH today on Good Morning NH regarding living within the state’s means. She also announced that she is creating a Commission on Government Efficiency, which she said will review ways to save taxpayers' dollars. She pledged to work across the aisle and be a governor for all New Hampshire residents, regardless of party.
