The Philadelphia Flyers came out sharp against the Montreal Canadiens, scoring in the first 5 minutes and carrying that 1-0 lead into the third period.
But it did not last, as the Habs were able to take control and outshoot the Orange & Black over the final 40 minutes 22-16 en route to a 3-2 win.
Ryan Poehling set a new career high with his 12th goal of the year and added an assist late, but it was Lane Hutson and the Canadiens who got the last laugh with 3 goals in the 3rd and officially eliminated the Philadelphia Flyers from playoff contention for its 5th straight year.

Matvei Michkov became the first Flyers rookie with consecutive 2-goal games since Dave Poulin in March of 1984, leading Philadelphia to a victory that many fans were rooting against.
