What a game. Through about 35 minutes the Philadelphia Flyers were winning a pretty boring game, and then the Orange & Black started pumping in goals. Tyson Foerster, Noah Cates and Bobby Brink all tallied in the middle frame to give Philly a 5-1 lead through 40 minutes, and the Flyguys never looked back. Matvei Michkov broke 40 points with yet another multi-point game, Sam Ersson was solid, and Jakob Pelletier picked up his first point since joining the Flyers in a dominant win over the Penguins. Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the win, and discuss whether Philly can actually make a playoff push.

Canada bested the United States in the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship game on Thursday night, as Connor McDavid furthered his legendary status with the overtime winning goal. Unfortunately, there will be one missing Travii from the lineup, as Team Canada will dress Seth Jarvis of Travis Konecny in the final. Also, Flyers president of hockey operations Keith Jones joined PHLY’s Anthony Gargano this morning, and provided lots of interesting bits of information. Charlie and Kelly digest the new info and break down what it all means for the team and its looming plans at the trade deadline.

What a night in Philadelphia. With most of the Delaware Valley still recovering from witnessing the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles hand Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs the beating of a lifetime, we’re going to be talking Birds, championships and a little hockey, too. Sam Ersson was the best Flyer on the ice tonight, keeping the Flyers in the first half of the game while the skaters in front of him were dominated by the Penguins, and then finished off the game with a strong effort to prevent the game-tying goal. Travis Konecny set up Scott Laughton for a first period goal to put Philly up 1-0 and jumped on the ice as the extra attacker on a delayed penalty and scored the eventual game-winner to give the Flyers only their 2nd win in the last 9 games. Bill, Steve & Charlie break down the win, Andrei Kuzmenko’s debut, and talk more about the trade rumors surrounding the team ahead of their 2 week break.

Matvei Michkov played one of, if not THE, best game of his young career on Thursday night, scoring a pair of goals in the Flyers’ 4-3 loss to the East-leading Washington Capitals. John Tortorella’s blow-up with Michkov last week has been thoroughly discussed everywhere, but with one year left on his contract in Philadelphia, how should/will Danny Briere & Keith Jones handle Torts’ future? Plus, an update on the lineup after the arrival of Andrei Kuzmenko & Jakob Pelletier.

Alex Ovechkin moved closer to Wayne Gretzky’s all-time scoring record, notching goal #879 in the first period of Thursday’s game. His Russian counterpart in Orange & Black put on a show of his own for his legendary countryman, tallying a pair of goals and nearly netting his first career hat trick on a 3rd period Michigan attempt that came oh-so-close. Ultimately, it was the Capitals prevailing in South Philly thanks to a couple third period goals. Bill & Kelly break down the loss, and what was possibly the best game of The Mad Russian’s career.

The Philadelphia Flyers finally scored! And did so twice! But it wasn’t enough, as the Utah Hockey Club won 3-2 in overtime on a buzzer beating goal in the 3v3 by a returning Dylan Guenther, his 2nd of the game. The Philadelphia Flyers set a (regular season) franchise record on Sunday, having failed to score a single goal in three consecutive games. Add in the rebuild-defining trade the shipped both Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost to the Calgary Flames, and it was quite a week for the Orange & Black. So… what now? With three games until the 4 Nations Face-Off break, and 33 days until the trade deadline passes, Bill & Kelly discuss the repercussions of Danny Briere’s biggest move since the Ivan Provorov deal, and what they expect from Matvei Michkov, Travis Konecny & Co. in the final 28 games of the 2024-25 season.

The Philadelphia Flyers played a very strong first period, outshooting the Colorado Avalanche 10-6 and dictating the pace for much of the period. But after that, it was mostly all Avs. Sam Girard and Nathan MacKinnon scored in the second, a period that saw Colorado outshoot Philly 18-7, and then it became a question of “will Mackenzie Blackwood get the shutout?” Well, he did. The Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders played their third game in about 2 weeks on Thursday night, but despite an early fight between Scott Laughton & Maxim Tsyplakov and a disallowed Matvei Michkov power play goal, not much happened on the ice. But off the ice, we have trade rumors! The Calgary Flames sat Andrei Kuzmenko and Morgan Frost wasn’t seen on the Flyguys’ bench from about the halfway point of the second period. In what was a physical, fast-paced game between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers for their third meeting in 12 days, the Devils were finally able to take advantage of their major skill and speed advantage over Philly. The Devils pumped 4 goals by Sam Ersson in the first 13:30 of the second period, chasing Team Sweden’s newest addition from the game for Ivan Fedotov en route to a blowout win. Charlie, Bill & Steve break down the loss, and discuss several trade deadline options for the Orange & Black, including Elias Pettersson & Brandt Clarke.
