This is How Revolutions Happen (Guardians Series Recap, 8/1-8-3)

8/4/2025
Send us a text In the aftermath of a crazy trade deadline, Dan and Hoges discuss the Minnesota Twins' series loss to the Cleveland Guardians. Hoges dwells on the positive of winning a one-run game in Cleveland for the first time in forever, while Dan is still feeling betrayed by Carlos Correa. They are both interested in seeing which young players take advantage of extra playing time, especially in the bullpen, which had itself a pretty decent series. Hoges debates whether he should renew his season tickets for next year, and Dan figures that anyone leaving the team now isn't a true fan. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! Living in the Sadness (Trade Deadline 2025)

8/1/2025
Send us a text At the end of one of the most momentous days in Minnesota Twins history, Dan and Hoges break down the trade deadline deals and what they mean for the team going forward. They disagree on the nature of Carlos Correa's departure, but they are equally baffled on the dealing of Louis Varland. Dan can see a hopeful path forward, whereas Hoges is just sad. The Cat is Out of the Bag (Red Sox Series Recap, 7/28-7/30)

7/31/2025
Send us a text It's happened: The Minnesota Twins have become sellers at the MLB trade deadline. Dan and Hoges discuss the move to trade Jhoan Duran to the Philadelphia Phillies, as well as the team's dispiriting series loss to the Boston Red Sox. Dan is upset over Carlos Correa's alleged willingness to go back to the Astros, while Hoges is upset at how Rocco Baldelli is managing his team as it shifts toward the last couple months of the season. They both wonder whether Rocco will survive a change in ownership -- and also whether the Twins are done trading away players as this disappointing season enters its final phases. Sam Darnold or Russell Wilson? (Nationals Series Recap, 7/25-7/27 and Paddack/Dobnak Trade)

7/28/2025
Send us a text The Twins drop 2 of 3 to the Washington Nationals at Target Field. David and Dan react to the breaking news that Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak have been traded to the Detroit Tigers for a catching prospect prior to jumping into the recap. The guys discuss Rocco's handling of Travis Adams, and David wants to know if Rocco is surprised that he is still managing the Twins. David wants to know what the floor and ceiling is for Brooks Lee, and if we'll see him demoted when Keaschall is ready to return to the majors. Dan thinks the Twins would be best served by keeping Harrison Bader, and David is starting to believe in Zebby Matthews. Thanks for listening, and as always, go Twins! Farther Than a Bunt (Dodgers Series Recap, 7/21-7/23)

7/24/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins visited Chavez Ravine and the Los Angeles Dodgers and nearly came away with a remarkable series victory, only to see it snatched away by a series of unfortunate decisions late in Game 3. Hoges fills in for David to discuss the series with Dan, who was in attendance at the last two games in L.A. They discuss the ups and downs of Rocco Baldelli's management as well as their shared frustration over just how much the trade deadline has dominated the narratives around this Twins team. Milkshakes at the Drive-Thru (Rockies Series Recap, 7/18-7/20)

7/21/2025
Send us a text Coming out of the All-Star Break, the Minnesota Twins give Colorado Rockies fans something of a surprise: a series victory for the Coors Field faithful. It's a disappointing series for the Twins, who fall three games under .500 and waste a chance to do better following what was an exciting pair of performances by Byron Buxton and Joe Ryan in Atlanta earlier in the week. David wonders whether Ryan has reached legitimate ace status, while Dan is eager to see the Twins shake up the roster by releasing one player and demoting another. Dan also praises Rocco Baldelli for his off-day management, but David is confused about Rocco's pinch-hitting choices. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! A Tea Party at Home Plate (Pirates Series Recap, 7/11-7/13)

7/13/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins take 2 of 3 against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Target Field. The boys talk through the series and as expected much of the talk focuses on Twins All-Stars Byron Buxton and Joe Ryan. The guys lament not being at Target field for Buxton's historic cycle, and they both criticize Willi Castro for making Friday's game closer than it ought to have been. David wants to know if Joe Ryan can say that he outpitched Paul Skenes, while Dan wonders what Twins fans need to see in the last three years of Correa's contract for it to feel worth it. The Heart is a Long Way from the Thigh (Cubs Series Recap, 7/8-7/10)

7/11/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins take 2 of 3 from the Chicago Cubs at Target Field. Dan joins David in person in his Minneapolis studio and the boys discuss their days at the ballpark for the Cubs series. Dan feels like it's time for Rocco to let SWR see a lineup a third time through, and David has decided the Twins should keep Harrison Bader for 2026. David thinks MLB players should wear cameras so fans could watch at-bats from their perspective, while Dan argues that's asking too much. Grading On a Curve (Rays Series Recap, 7/4-7/6)

7/7/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins take 2 of 3 from Tampa Bay Rays at Target Field in Minneapolis. Dan has an interesting dream about Joe Mauer, and David tries his best to interpret it. Byron Buxton is living his dream as he'll be playing in Atlanta as an All-Star. Dan appreciates Rocco's versatility in his use of pinch hitters and runners throughout the series, while David is furious Rocco didn't let Louis Varland pitch the 10th in game 3. Dan wants to know if this team is good again, while David wonders if it's time to bring up our resident Canadian, Eddie Julien. Thanks for listening, and as always, go Twins! Leave the Pitcher in Until He Dies (Marlins Series Recap, 7/1-7/3)

7/3/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins manage just one victory in three games in Miami, much to the consternation of David and Dan, who are frustrated by the inconsistency of this offense -- and are also resigned to the fact that this team as constructed just isn't a playoff-ready team. That said, David is pleased with Rocco Baldelli's management of David Festa but is still ready to jettison many players on expiring contracts. Dan is wise to Rocco's roster management and is also eager to invite a few Twins players to his Fourth of July party. There's also lots around the league to discuss, including a milestone for a pitcher and a gambling scandal for a Twins rival. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! Appreciating the Baseball for the Baseball (Tigers Series Recap, 6/27-6/29)

6/30/2025
Send us a text David and Dan are somewhat surprised to say that the Minnesota Twins took a game from the first-place Detroit Tigers, who looked every bit the part in this three-game series at Comerica Park. David is happy to see that the Twins took the first game and looked so good in doing so. Dan has a plan that would ensure Byron Buxton gets his rightful start in the All-Star Game. Both of them are underwhelmed by the Twins' catching tandem, and neither is totally confident that Rocco Baldelli knows that bunts are in fact allowed in baseball. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! The Corn Dog Route (Mariners Series Recap, 6/23-6/26)

6/27/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins lose two and win two against the visiting Seattle Mariners, giving David and Dan some hope that this year's team, now halfway through the season, isn't without hope. They critique the performances by all four starting pitchers and question the choices of manager Rocco Baldelli more than the decisions by Mariners skipper Dan Wilson. Both of them look toward the trade deadline and find little reason at this point to trade key assets. Still, they see lots to like in this series split as they look toward the next few series before the All-Star Break. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! A Pitcher in Name Only (Brewers Series Recap, 6/20-6/22)

6/23/2025
Send us a text At home against the rival Brewers, the Minnesota Twins drop all three games over a weekend series at Target Field, continuing a tailspin that looks a whole lot like the one the team endured at the end of last season. David laments just how often we've watched Jonah Bride pitch, while Dan offers a theory as to why Jake Bauers pitched as poorly as he did for the Brewers in Game 1. Dan also has a two-faced reading of Brooks Lee's series, and David heaps the praise on the one Twins player who deserves it right now. They also ponder whether the team should just bring back Eddie Julien and Jose Miranda now, considering how bad the offense has been anyway. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! 6/20/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins lose 2 of 3 to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark. David adds to his case that Willi Castro errors are always mental, never physical, while Dan is upset at the MLB's rules about official games. David is curious if Bailey Ober's face on the mound is different than the face he uses when his children want his attention, and Dan wants to know if Rocco is up to the challenge to manage Ober and Paddack through their rough patches on the mound. The Whole Point of Architecture (Astros Series Recap, 6/13-6/15)

6/16/2025
Send us a text On Fathers' Day, David and Dan discuss the disappointing three-game series for the Minnesota Twins in Houston, where the Astros completed a sweep that so easily could have been a series win for the Twins. They process the injuries to Royce Lewis and Byron Buxton, lamenting the absences as part of the wasted chance here that the Twins had to build back some momentum. They also have words for the people who designed the Astros baseball stadium (going all the way back to its beginnings) while also wondering about Rocco Baldelli's handling of SWR and whether he might have been channeling the coaching style of a Minnesota legend. Send us a text For the fourth time in their last five, the Minnesota Twins lose a series, this time to the visiting Texas Rangers. Andrew "Hoges" Hoganson fills in for David and helps Dan make sense of an up-and-down series that included a wonderful Game 2 victory and then two ugly blowout losses. Send us a text The Minnesota Twins travel to Sacramento and have little trouble scoring runs with their full lineup back together, taking three of four from the Athletics, who are mired in a deep slump after a strong start. David and Dan discuss the role that dirt played in the series as well as the outspoken manner of Joe Ryan before jumping into the big question: How will the Twins fare without ace pitcher Pablo Lopez? Dan is pretty sure the Twins will fill his spot internally; David generally agrees and is very glad to see that Chris Paddack has been as good as he has this season. Dan gives David a gift on air, and they look around the league -- and the sports world -- at some notable happenings. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! This Fiery Version of Carlos Correa (Mariners Series Recap, 5/30-6/1)

6/2/2025
Send us a text With Dan and Andrew in attendance, the Minnesota Twins take the first but then lose the next two games against the Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Dan talks with David about the experience of being there for such an exciting series, which from a neutral fan perspective would surely have been an excellent one to watch. They discuss the Twins' three ninth-inning comebacks, as well as the extra-inning flop in Game 2. David wonders where this fired-up version of Carlos Correa was earlier in the year, and Dan wonders what the Twins' plan is for Royce Lewis. Maybe, just maybe, Paul Molitor could speak to Lewis (and some other players) to make them better. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! The Ghosts of the Yankees (Rays Series Recap, 5/26-5/28)

5/29/2025
Send us a text The Minnesota Twins drop 2 of 3 to the Tampa Bay Rays at Steinbrenner Field. The Twins lose their first series since May 1st, and the guys discuss the lack of offensive production being the reason why the team dropped this series. Dan wants to know how many jersey changes Pablo Lopez did during his start, and also wants the Twins to add a Designated Hitter for Keirsey Jr. David wants to know if the offense will pickup with the return of Buxton and Wallner from the IL, and how much will it need to pickup if the pitching stays this dominant. Dan is curious if Royce Lewis weren't Royce Lewis and playing the way he currently plays if he would be sent down. The guys finish up by making their picks for the upcoming Mariners series.
