1/24/2025
January 24, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 83 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the latest news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers. We go over Steelers OLB T.J. Watt backing out of the Pro Bowl games in addition to him being named a finalist for the annual AP Defensive Player of the Year award. We also discuss a few AP award finalists lists that Steelers DT Cameron Heyward was left off of. Jim Rooney is in the news this week thanks to several comments that he made about the Steelers during a recent interview he gave. Alex and I go over those controversial comments made by Rooney. Steelers QB Russell Wilson was on The Pat McAfee Show this week and Alex and I go over the key things he said during that interview. We also discuss the possibility of Wilson reuniting with HC Pete Carroll now that he's been named the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. What will the demand be this offseason for Wilson and Steelers QB Justin Fields with both players scheduled to become unrestricted free agents in March? Alex and I discuss that topic for a bit. Is there a legitimate chance that Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins lands in Pittsburgh this offseason? Alex and I discuss my thoughts on that topic based on a post I wrote on Thursday. Alex and I continue to learn more and more about the 23025 NFL Draft class with the annual college all-star games getting underway and on Friday we discuss several top defensive linemen that we both have studied since our Wednesday show. The NFL's Conference Championship games will take place on Sunday, so Alex and I provide our picks against the spread for both of those upcoming contests late in this show. This 120-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

January 22, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 82 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the latest news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers. We go over the latest Reserve/Future signing the Steelers made since our last show and how it's looking increasingly like OC Arthur Smith will remain in Pittsburgh for at least another season. Steelers S Miles Killebrew was named a Pro Bowl Games replacement on Wednesday, so we make sure to hit that bit of news as well. The eighth episode of the SFC version of Hard Knocks aired Tuesday night so Alex and I go over the parts that included the Steelers. We discuss what HC Mike Tomlin said to his team to wrap up the 2024 season and go over the conversion that CB Joey Porter Jr. had with DB coach Grady Brown. Alex and I discuss the Steelers player that is the face of the franchise and team leader right now and which players, if any, are poised to assume that role or roles once DT Cameron Heyward retires. Pro Football Focus recently released their top 75 free agents for the upcoming offseason along with the contract projections for each. Alex and I go over the five Steelers players on that PFF list and also discuss a few others on it the time might be interested in pursuing during free agency. We spend a lot of time discussing the projected contracts of QB Justin Fields and QB Russell Wilson for obvious reasons. The Depot Dive - January 21 - Episode 41

1/21/2025
Jan. 21 – Ep. 41: On this episode of The Depot Dive, Joe Clark and Ross McCorkle start by discussing the lack of changes to the coaching staff or front office in Pittsburgh. Will any changes happen in the few days leading up to the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl? We weigh in with our thoughts on the matter and discuss the stability of the Steelers and how you have to take the bad with the good. For the second topic, we talk about the quarterback position. Will the Steelers look to address the position early in the draft? Should they look to move up, or just roll with Justin Fields and shift their crosshairs to the 2026 NFL Draft. We discuss a wide range of topics having to do with the future of the QB position. For the third topic, we each preview some position groups and specific players we look forward to watching at the Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl this upcoming week. The Terrible Podcast — Talking Steelers' News, Divisional Round Takeaways, Franchise QB Talk, Two DT Draft Prospects & More

1/20/2025
January 20, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 81 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the four Divisional Round playoff games that were played over the weekend. We discuss our main takeaways from those games. All four remaining teams in the playoffs this year have franchise-type quarterbacks, so we go over that aspect and how it relates to the Pittsburgh Steelers. We go over the fact that the Steelers are unlikely to land a franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft and how the team is more than likely to move forward in the short-term with QB Justin Fields if they can get him re-signed. The Steelers have re-signed RB Jonathan Ward to a Reserve/Future contract as of Monday morning, so Alex and I go over that news. We also go over other Steelers-related news from the weekend and that includes DBs coach Grady Brown interview with the Atlanta Falcons for their defensive coordinator opening. The Steelers seem set to move Broderick Jones over to left tackle in 2025, so Alex and I discuss the possibility of that happening. We discuss whether that will automatically make Jones a better player or not. We also discuss the Steelers' need to add a veteran backup tackle this offseason and we both wonder if veteran Kelvin Beachum might be such a candidate due to his history, experience and expected cost. Alex and I both spent time over the weekend looking at a defensive lineman prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class. We go over what each of us learned about Mississippi DL Walter Nolan and Oregon DL Derrick Harmon. Later in this show, Alex and I look ahead to the College Championship game that will take place Monday, and we give our picks for that contest. Finally, Alex and I get to several more of the emails that listeners have sent us since the Steelers' season-ending loss in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. 1/17/2025
January 17, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 80 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing a few early 2025 NFL Draft prospects we plan on deep diving right out of the chute and each of us will be attacking a defensive lineman. Several beat writers such as Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently had interviews that Alex and I review. We get deep into what Dulac said about the Steelers need at the running back position and the likelihood of them drafting one early this year. We also discuss the latest beat writer reports concerning QB Russell Wilson, QB Justin Fields, and WR George Pickens. With it looking like RB Najee Harris will be gone this offseason; Alex and I discuss his four seasons in Pittsburgh and which teams might be interested in signing him in free agency. I posted my first full deep dive look at the Steelers 2025 salary cap outlook for the offseason on Friday morning, so Alex and I recap that post from top to bottom. We discuss potential cuts, potential contract extensions, how the team should be expected to approach free agency this offseason, and much, much more. We discuss projected 2025 cash spending this offseason for the Steelers as well. Later in this show, Alex and I look ahead to the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs this weekend and we make our picks against the spread for all four games. The Terrible Podcast — Talking Steelers News, Hard Knocks, Mike Tomlin Presser, Davante Adams, Salary Cap & More

1/15/2025
January 15, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 79 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the notable things concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers in the latest episode of Hard Knocks that aired on Tuesday night. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his end-of-the-season press conference on Tuesday, so Alex and I go over the several talking points that were produced. There is quite a bit to discuss when it comes to what Tomlin said on Tuesday and that includes him sounding like he wants QB Justin Fields back in 2025 to be the team's starter. Alex and I then go over a few things on the all-22 tape related to the Steelers’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night. Steelers OC Arthur Smith is interviewing for a few open head coaching jobs in the NFL, so we go over that news. We also discuss the Las Vegas Raiders being interested in Sheldon White, the director of pro scouting for the Steelers. WR George Pickens was reportedly late for the Steelers' Christmas game against the Kansas City Chiefs late in the season, so we discuss that news and what Tomlin had to say about that during his Tuesday question and answer session. Will and should the Steelers trade WR George Pickens during the offseason? Will or should they sign Pickens to a contract extension? Alex and I get to those questions during this show. The Steelers signed 17 players to Reserve/Future contract on Tuesday so we go over that news and quickly discuss the more notable players on that list. With the Steelers now having more than 51 players under contract for the 2025 season, Alex and I go over a rough outline of where the team now sits from a salary cap perspective. New York Jets WR Davante Adams recently said that he would be open to playing for Tomlin, so we discuss the plausibility related to that happening in 2025. Later in this show, Alex and I finally get to several more of the emails listeners have sent us since the Steelers' season-ending loss in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. We talk about the significance of another early playoff exit, and why it feels a little different this time around. For the second topic, we discuss the latest drama surrounding George Pickens with reports that he showed up very late to the Kansas City Chiefs game on Christmas Day. What does this mean for his future and will he ever play another snap for the Steelers? For the third topic, we talk about several topics from Mike Tomlin's press conference. Who will be the quarterback in 2025? What "change" is Mike Tomlin talking about? Which coaching changes could make the biggest impact? We give our opinions on all of these and much more.
