Host John Trout brings you new Bluegrass releases and old favorites with a down-home feel true to the roots of Bluegrass music. Traditional Ties started in July of 1985 as an evening show featuring Bluegrass and classic country music. In recent years Traditional Ties has become a new release show with frequent features and interviews. John Trout has received recognition as an authority on the genre, receiving Bluegrass Now’s "DJ of the Year" award in 1998 in Nashville.
