What's God Got To Do With It?: God, the Brain, and the Body Battle (Part 5)

8/2/2025
Welcome back for Part 5 of the official crossover series of the "What’s God Got To Do With It?" and Outweigh podcasts. This week we’re diving deep into a crucial part of the food and body image conversation—what Leanne likes to call your “body brain.” If you’ve been following along, you know we’ve been exploring how faith intersects with our struggles around food and self image. Today, we’re turning our focus to the physical side of things, and how your body (and your perception of it) are deeply intertwined. We’ll be looking at this from both a nervous system and physiological perspective, but we can’t ignore the importance of how you view your body and your relationship with it. This episode isn’t about offering a quick fix; it’s about helping you understand the deeper layers that contribute to your struggles. Leanne also shares her personal journey of overcoming her own body image (and chronic pain) battles, so you can see that real, lasting change is possible...but it starts with breaking the chains of your own harsh self-criticism, guilt, and shame. The hope is that by the end of this episode, you’ll feel empowered to start dismantling your own beliefs and step into a new story about your body. Remember, this isn’t just about what you weigh or how you look—it’s about freeing yourself from the heavy burden of judgment and stepping into a place of peace and self-compassion. Write Your Story: Writing Advice That Might Hurt Your Feelings

7/25/2025
This week, I want to offer some straightforward writing and publishing advice that might hurt your feelings; but I’m willing to hurt your feelings since it is in service of awakening your inner artist (see: last week’s episode). Even if you’re “not a writer” or don’t have any aspirations for publishing, this advice is for you. It’s for any creative person who questions the validity of their art because they don’t make much (or any) money from their creative pursuits, because they don’t have a big following, or because their art doesn’t look like the art of those who have had commercial success. Before you give up, or if you already have, check out today’s episode. What I have to say might just change the way you approach your art altogether. I hope it helps you and I can’t wait to see what you make. Soul Sessions: Elevate Your Energetic Currency: A Mid-Year Guide to Inner Alignment

7/20/2025
On this week's episode of Soul Sessions with Amanda Rieger Green: As we reach the midpoint of the year, it's a powerful time to recognize that your energy and frequency are your most vital currency. Your physical body acts as a sacred tuning fork, constantly sensing and reflecting your inner state. Understanding and refining this connection is key to navigating life with grace and integrity. We are living through a period of significant energetic shifts and evolution, where old structures are decomposing to make way for new. These changes are not just abstract; they are real and visceral, impacting us on physical, energetic, and spiritual levels. Honoring what resonates as true within your energetic field is paramount. To cultivate a strong and coherent energetic field, focus on these three checkpoints: Sacred Discernment: Trust Your Inner Knowing Your discernment is a sacred tool for navigating your energetic landscape. It's not about judgment, but rather a deep, intuitive recognition of what aligns with your highest good. We've often been conditioned to override this inner knowing with politeness or external expectations, leading to regret and energetic drain. Mantra: "If it dulls my field, it doesn't belong." Energetic Boundaries: Cultivate Stable Containment Energetic boundaries are not about building walls or defensive armor; they're about fostering stability within your own energetic field. The goal is to become so attuned to your own unique signal that anything out of alignment cannot stick or reside within your space. Mantra: "I hold my signal. I do not shrink, and I do not leak." Your Body as a Tuning Fork: Calibrated for Coherence Your physical body is not something to constantly fix; it's an intricate frequency reader and bio-instrument, constantly tuning and recalibrating. It's often processing information faster than your mind can consciously grasp. Mantra: "My body is calibrated for coherence; it only harmonizes with truth." Remember, the most sacred thing you can do right now is to honor what feels true in your field. This isn't about seeking external proof; it's about claiming your sacred discernment. When you hold your signal clearly, you create the space for authentic connection and alignment. Tune in to hear as Amanda shares practical exercises to help you maintain your energetic integrity! What's God Got To Do With It?: God, the Brain, and the Body Battle (Part 3)

7/18/2025
Welcome back for Part 3 of the official crossover series of the "What’s God Got To Do With It?" and Outweigh podcasts. This week, we discuss the necessity of stepping into a new version of yourself if you really want to achieve true health and freedom in your relationship with food and your body. We talk about WHY transforming your self-image is crucial on a neuroscience level, and how it's not about what you eat-- but who you truly believe yourself to be. Only this time around, you're invited to address the roots of your identity and self-image in a way that aligns with God's view of yourself, instead of worldly and societal standards. And of course, we get a little 'geeky' and explore the Anterior Cingulate Cortex (ACC), and its significant role in self-perception, emotional and physical pain, and your coping mechanisms, AND how this is particularly important for women, whose ACCs are more active than men's. Throughout the episode, you'll hear scripture AND evidence-based research that supports the transformative power of faith. Dive on in to learn how integrating faith and science can lead to building YOUR new identity, free from the burdens of shame and self-rejection, and discover what it truly means to see yourself as God sees you. They also talk about how to smuggle a cookie cake across borders, how neither Kat nor Amy can dive into a pool (one of the more odd things they have in common), and the importance of actually feeling your feelings (especially when your cat pees in your luggage the night before a flight!) What's God Got To Do With It?: God, the Brain, and the Body Battle (Part 2)

7/13/2025
Today, we're diving deep into the intersection of faith, science, food, and body image. This is the big picture conversation -- where these themes overlap, so you can simply understand this connection between neuroscience and faith...and how it can lead to meaningful, lasting transformation in our lives. Leanne shares (for her) how embracing this dialogue meant confronting her skeptical, science-driven mindset and inviting a God-centered perspective into areas she was previously tackling through her own might, and how this approach completed her story and aligned with her fascination with the brain and nervous system. She addresses topics like: Why do our brains play tricks on us? Why do we do what we do? Why can't we seem to shake life-long habits? With references to biblical scripture and modern neuroscience studies, Leanne highlights the transformative power of aligning your thoughts with a higher spiritual perspective. And of course you are invited to invite God into the conversation, recognizing that true transformation involves cultivating a new identity rooted in faith and understanding the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit...and self-image. Write Your Story: An Unexpected Reason You Don’t Feel Supported
