A special Husky Talk with a dream come true for me, being able to co-host with the I.C.O.N, best of the best, Voice of the UConn Huskies Joe D'Ambrosio. Plus, he was able to spend time with me doing shows two days in a row without me making his blood pressure go up. Our guest is one of the best players in UConn Football history, on the all-century team, along with playing 16 years in the NFL, former Tight End Brian Kozlowski. Joe covered football regularly around that era, his knowledge and expertise was huge, I appreciate, along with being grateful he did the episode with me.Thank you Procyon Partners, The Finch Firm LLC, Dynamic Human Performance LLC, and Trench Mob for being sponsors, we included their video advertisements in the show. Sean Rabinowitz, Pete Finch, Andre Dixon, Julius Trenches, your support has made a huge difference,Nedvonne Young with Fresh Fold Laundry Company opened on January 18th. We did an ad to promote his business as well. Please go to their website at www.freshfoldlaundry.com for more information their services, including offering subscriptions.Joe D and I talk with Brian about the current UConn football team. He broke the ice by joking at the Wasabi Bowl, with both teams having to share a sideline, his buddy Robert Belcuore definitely would be fighting someone on the other team. Joe asked him about his experience attending Fork Union Military Academy after high school. Back in Brian's era, kid doing a post graduate year to be recruited was not as popular as it is today. Brian said it was an experience he will never forget. Waxing his floors, making his bed every morning, saluting cadets who were younger than him, plus the school was in the middle of nowhere.Joe discusses his recruitment to UConn and it was Greg Williams, defensive coordinator at the time, who visited most. Brian said he just wanted a scholarship to play football at a high level, the Huskies were a fit. Joe talked about his chemistry with QB Matt DeGennaro, Koz started as a freshman, 43 games in total, also putting up great numbers with 43 receptions for 523 yards and a touchdown. Joe also brought up a few other great players on the team from that era, Mark Didio, Eddie Long, Wilbur Smash Gilliard, along with coach Tom Jackson. Koz was fierce, aggressive, loved to hit, never missed even a practice. Even legendary strength coach Jerry Martin did all he could to break Koz and Robert Belcuore but they did it all, then asked him for MORE. Koz was named to the All-Yankee Conference team in 1990 and 1992.I inquire about his NFL career, experience of playing in a Superbowl when he was with Atlanta, and his story is special, no other word for it. The Brian Kozlowski award was named after him, given out after each season to a player who exemplifies toughness, grit, a strong work ethic, high motor, incredible effort, and it's a tremendous honor to win the award. Note, I was not a finalist.Green Street Trust International is owned by Ronel Jumpp, they offer a variety of services but specialize in tax plans for businesses.
