Bridging the Gap With Pastor Lloyd Pulley

In the gospel of John we are reminded of the power of Jesus. It’s quite a contrast to the power of man! Those arresting Jesus thought they were in control and were deceived by their so called power. But it was Jesus who was in control! Let’s join pastor Lloyd in John chapter eighteen, as we witness the arrest of Jesus.

We’re going to bring you today Lloyd’s final message in John chapter seventeen. In the last verses of this wonderful chapter, Jesus prays for you and me. That we would be united here on earth, and that we would see His glory one day in Heaven

Our challenge is that God Himself tells us to go into the hostile, cold world and make disciples of men. How can we survive the cold and accomplish that goal? The answer lies in our sanctification, being sanctified in order to serve God and His great commission. Today on Bridging the Gap, our teacher, pastor Lloyd Pulley, will continue his study of John chapter seventeen. We’ll be in verses thirteen through twenty-six.

Today Pastor Lloyd Pulley brings us a message based in John chapter seventeen. This chapter is commonly referred to as the “red letter prayer”, because it consists entirely of the Lord’s Prayer the night before He was arrested and crucified. It’s a touching and powerful chapter to say the least. Prayer should be much more than just a repetition of certain words before a meal, and it should be more than a last resort in times of trouble.

Today pastor Lloyd Pulley will continue our study in John, with a closer look at The Lord’s prayer in the garden of Gethsemane found in chapter seventeen. If your prayer life could use a tune up, please tune in, as together we see how Jesus prays.

What a contrast Christianity is from the way of the world and the world’s religions that seek not to give, but to take! In Christianity the emphasis is on what God, in His love, has given! Oh and what a gift He gave in His Son! The world seeks to take - God seeks to give! This is what Pastor Lloyd will be exploring today as we complete our look at John chapter sixteen.

Throughout the Christian life, we experience grief, trials, and pain, but the good news is that one day our sorrow will be turned to joy. That’s the topic today on Bridging the Gap with pastor Lloyd Pulley, as we resume our series through the gospel of John. Our aim is to cover verses sixteen through thirty-three of chapter sixteen over the next couple of broadcasts.

As we return to our study of John sixteen today, we’ll see that Jesus needed to be removed from the presence of His disciples before the Holy Spirit could be sent to work in their lives. More importantly, we’ll learn why the Holy Spirit was sent in the first place.

In the gospel of John, chapter sixteen, we are given great insight into the essential work of the Holy Spirit - in and through the life of the believer. And for the next several days pastor Lloyd will be exploring the Holy Spirit’s enriching ministry.

In the fifteenth chapter of John’s gospel, we learn more about the work of the Holy Spirit in us. And the power of the Holy Spirit to take God’s word and make it alive in the hearts of those we are seeking to reach. The Holy Spirit will testify of Jesus!

We all want to be liked by those around us, and some of us will say and do just about anything to make that happen. But if you’re a Christian, and living like one, you will be hated. Jesus told us that, but He also told us that if we abide in Him, then all the world’s hate cannot harm us!

Today on Bridging the Gap, we study John’s gospel. We’re in chapter fifteen, where we’re urged by the Lord to abide in God’s love. The world is going to be against you, the moment you declare your allegiance to Christ.

We’re told in the Bible that what a man desires is unfailing love. Many today are searching for unfailing love, but are looking in all the wrong places for it. Today, Lloyd points out a few distinct aspects of God’s love - which is certainly unfailing. The first characteristic is that it originates with Him. So, join us in John chapter fifteen, as we discover how to abide in God’s love.

We’re in the midst of a verse by verse study through John’s gospel, and we’ve landed in chapter fifteen today. In this chapter, Jesus explains to His apostles the nature of His relationship with the Father and, in doing so, reveals the ideal relationship between the Father and us. We are the branches and Jesus is the true vine. Just exactly what does that mean, and how can we pout those words into action in our lives?

If you have young children, I’m sure you’re amazed at how quickly they grow. You might also do what many parents do - keep track of their growth with a mark on a wall. That’s a good gauge of physical growth, but what about spiritual growth? Join us now in John chapter fifteen as we discover the dynamics of spiritual growth, as we abide in Jesus.

Today we continue our series through the gospel of John with a final study in chapter fourteen. Jesus has some very powerful and thought-provoking words to share with His disciples as He prepares for His arrest and crucifixion. Jesus knew what awaited Him. He knew the pain, humiliation and violence that were just a few hours away. Yet, His concern was for His friends - and that includes you and me.

Today on Bridging the Gap, we continue our study of the gospel of John by once again turning to chapter fourteen. In the final ten verses of this great chapter, we read some of the greatest words spoken by the Lord.

Today, pastor Lloyd Pulley shares the second half of a message from Colossians chapter one, titled “The Plan of The Cross”, and has us consider a situation most of us have faced at one time or another - feeling like our faith in Christ is not what it used to be. That special experience of being born again is something we never forget, but as we move along in life, sometimes that excitement kid of dwindles, doesn’t it? Pastor Lloyd is going to urge us today to continue in our faith, and he’ll use the words of Paul in Colossians chapter one, verses nineteen through twenty-three.

It’s great to have you with us today, as we bring you a special message for Easter, from Colossians chapter one, verses nineteen through twenty-three. These verses have to do with Jesus Christ and His role as reconciler. Who did He reconcile? Well, sin has separated man from God. God simply cannot have anything to do with sin. He hates it. So Jesus came to earth and died on a cross to reconcile us with God.

Jesus said it Himself, He came to earth not be served, but to serve. And if it weren’t for His sacrificial death - an act of service to His Father, we would be destined for hell. As we again look at John fourteen today, we will see that despite the fact that Jesus was about to be put to death, He continues to serve and consort His disciples.
