COPS: PREP SCHOOL GRAD USES GOLF CLUB TO KILL BROTHER FACES PROBABLE CAUSE HEARING

4/26/2025
11:16 p.m. Saturday. Princeton police respond to a 911 call about a dead body and a fire in an apartment building. The caller remains cryptic, refusing to answer the dispatcher’s questions about who is dead, why they are dead, or who owns the apartment. Police and first responders surround the building, but nothing prepares them for what they find inside. Matthew Hertgen, 31, answers the door. Inside, officers see a bloody, unresponsive young man with blunt force and laceration injuries covering his body. He is pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators note that one of his eyes has been removed. Nearby, they find a bloody plate, fork, and knife. Officers also discover a bloody golf club and what appears to be the charred remains of a cat. The victim is identified as 26-year-old Joseph Hertgen. Matthew Hertgen is immediately arrested for the murder of his younger brother. The discovery of the bloody plate leads police to believe that, in addition to beating Joseph to death, Hertgen ate his eye. Princeton police have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack. Hertgen is also charged with animal cruelty and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The Princeton community is stunned. Residents describe Joseph’s death as devastating and tragic. A police source says no one could have foreseen such violence. Matthew Hertgen, they say, came from what appeared to be a stable, all-American family, with no signs he was capable of such brutality—especially against his own brother. Bombshell Claim: Bryan Kohberger's Mom Secretly Torpedoes Defense

4/24/2025
As the start of Bryan Kohberger's trial looms, his defense team is throwing everything possible at the prosecution, filing motion after motion aiming to take the death penalty off the table. Now, sources allege pleading not guilty is mom Maryann Kohberger's idea. Apparently she thinks he should fight the charges, which could, if he's convicted, push him into a course to face capital punishment. Also happening in court, an Idaho judge has denied Kohberger's request to bring in defense experts to offer testimony against the prosecution's theories about his movements and his Amazon shopping history. Prosecutors say evidence shows Kohberger purchases a knife and knife sheath online in the months before the killings and court filings say he also seeks a ‘replacement’ knife after the Idaho murders. SICK RANSOM TEXTS: MISSING WOMAN'S FAMILY TOLD SHE'D BE "CHOPPED INTO PIECES"

4/21/2025
Layla Santanello, a young mother from Tennessee, was last seen on June 27, 2023, in a field next to the Americourt Hotel. Employees and guests reported that she appeared erratic and paranoid. Surveillance footage captured Layla walking around the hotel, reportedly knocking on doors and searching for someone. The events leading up to her disappearance began on June 24, three days earlier. Jennifer Santanello, Layla’s mother, received a message from Layla’s Facebook account. The message, sent by Layla’s boyfriend, asked if Layla was in jail or the hospital, saying he hadn’t seen her in more than 24 hours. Later that night, Layla messaged her mother from the same account, writing, “I’m fine mom,” and adding, “I been with a friend. I don’t have a phone to text or call. I’m using someone else’s.” About two weeks later, a series of strange Cash App requests were sent from Layla’s account to both her stepmother, Brittany Zeitler, and her mother. One request for $100 included the subject line “twlmg.” Several more requests followed in quick succession with the same subject line. Jennifer sent $1 to the account and asked if Layla was okay. As the transactions continued, she came to believe that “twlmg” meant “they won’t let me go.” Another message allegedly read, “We have Layla. She owes a drug debt, and if she doesn’t pay, you’ll find her chopped up into pieces.” Joining Nancy Grace today: Ben PowersCaryn StarkRebekah McNerneyhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/rebekah-mcnerney/https://www.instagram.com/rebekahmcnerney See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

THE CASE FOR RESURRECTION: JOHN 3:16, TRUE STORY

4/18/2025
Easter Sunday is a holy day for Christians around the world. Its celebration brings hope to the nations through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we approach this holy day, Nancy Grace and her expert panel explores the facts of Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection and historical evidence in its reality. Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem for Passover and what is now called "Palm Sunday" is often called His "Triumphal Entry" as crowds line the streets, spreading their cloaks and waving palm branches. Shouts of "Hosanna" came from the crowd, recognizing Him as King, but Jesus was also seen as a political threat by religious leaders and Roman authority fearing the populace would unite behind Jesus leading to unrest. Jesus was arrested on charges of sedition, in the late evening after the Passover meal. He appeared before the Sanhedrin immediately, accused of blasphemy and claiming to be King of the Jews. He is judged guilty, condemned to die on a cross. Sources other than the bible mention Jesus death by crucifixion and even document events that coincided with Jesus' death on the cross. Historical accounts by Jewish historian Flavius Josephus and Roman Historian, Tacitus, both corroborate the existence of Jesus and His execution under Pontius Pilate.
