Over the past year, more than 500 volunteers have contributed nearly 6,000 hours, from weeding and track repairs to wildlife monitoring and cultural heritage protection. ============================================Eight Western District Mayors - including those representing Colac-Otway, and Corangamite - have joined forces against the Emergency Services tax. Colac-Otway Mayor Jason Schram says the meeting today in Mortlake will help shape where councils go next. ============================================Victorians are being urged to wear orange today to show support for our hardworking SES volunteers. It’s part of Wear Orange Wednesday—or WOW Day—held during National Volunteer Week. It’s happening Friday 13 June at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown, from 6:30 to 9 pm. ==========================================Six councils in the Geelong region have joined forces to oppose a proposed emergency services levy. Representatives from Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Queenscliffe, Colac Otway, Golden Plains, and Wyndham met with Greens MP Sarah Mansfield, urging her to vote against the Emergency Services Volunteer Fund Bill.
