Rock Hill Schools confirms district-level 'reduction in force'

12/19/2024
Rock Hill Schools says it's making administrative changes that will go into effect at the start of the 2025 school year. Officials explain the changes are happening so they can provide more funding for school-level positions instead. This change was initiated at the June school board meeting when a motion was made to “a proposed budget to restructure the district office organizational chart – so additional funding could be directed to schools and classrooms instead of the district office.” Following that motion, the school board decided to start “reorganizing” and “reducing force.” School officials say to stay within the budget, the school board will pull or eliminate funding from district-level positions and refocus them on school-level positions. He was a light to those around him and will be terribly missed. "It's so that we can remember the person that he was," she said. "We pray that his soul can live in peace." The 16-year-old's body was found about a mile from his home. Lincoln County detectives are investigating the case as a possible homicide. Charlotte finally breaks snow drought after over a thousand days

12/3/2024
Any time there's a chance for snow in Charlotte, it's all about timing. Is it cold and wet enough at the same time? Is the air too dry? We've examined those questions during Weather IQ, and the math worked out Monday overnight to bring Charlotte its first snow since 2022. From Monday evening through early Tuesday morning, the atmospheric conditions were favorable for a few snowflakes. Even with a bit of snow reaching the ground, the impact is extremely minimal. Snow flurries in December wouldn't grab much attention if it was not for the Charlotte snow drought. But it only took a trace to break our snowless drought in Charlotte, which had stood at 1,037 days. The last time there was measurable snow (including a trace) before this was on Jan. 29, 2022. Breaking down the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

11/27/2024
What began as a creative marketing idea has evolved into one of the nation’s most beloved holiday celebrations, featuring giant balloons, star-studded performances, and millions of viewers each year. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, an iconic American tradition, made its debut on November 27, 1924. Originally called the Macy’s Christmas Parade, the event was created by Macy’s employees to celebrate the holiday season, promote the department store’s brand-new location, and boost holiday sales, according to the Library of Congress.
