From Friday's show: LG Sara Rodriguez On WI’s New Legislature (Hour 2) We are honored to welcome Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez back to the show! 1/10/2025
In today’s second hour, we are honored to welcome Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez back to the show! After briefly explaining the latest severe weather declaration from Governor Tony Evers, she explores the makeup of 2025’s new state legislature with us. LG Rodriguez is looking forward to reaching across the aisle to address Wisconsin’s housing affordability crisis this year. She also helps us stay informed on this April’s State Supreme Court election. Afterwards, Todd asks us What’s Worse: obsessive planners or people who don’t plan at all? Todd also brings us an article by Daniel Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on some of the real reasons Brad Schimel wants to be a Justice. We end today’s show with a clip from the Joe Rogan Experience. Actor Mel Gibson shared some stories about alleged cancer cures. However, the medications he lists are NOT approved or effective for treating cancer. We must be careful not to trap ourselves in information silos. The Mount Rushmore Of WI Athletics with Bradie Ewing (Hour 1)

1/10/2025
This Friday, Todd takes another moment to update us on the raging wildfires in California. Our friend LA Tom provides some more information from the ground. If you or someone you know are in the greater Los Angeles area, stay calm and pay attention to the news and your surroundings. If you’re able to donate to help victims of the fires, Time Magazine has a list of reputable charities that can best put your donations to use. At the bottom of the hour, three-time Big 10 Champion and former NFL fullback Bradie Ewing returns to the show. He gives us his perspective on what the Packers face in the postseason. As an athlete who suffered from severe injuries in the NFL, Bradie has insight into what Jordan Love may be going through. Todd also asks a fascinating question: if Bradie could pick any four coaches from Wisconsin athletics to immortalize on Mount Rushmore, who would he pick? Today, Todd asks us What’s Worse: staring or not making eye contact? We take your calls and texts! At the bottom of the hour, Todd dives into a deeply fascinating story. According to the CDC, Wisconsin ranks among the least fertile states in the US. Northern WI in particular may soon experience a dangerous decrease in population. Todd also breaks down some noteworthy representatives in the 119th Congress. Some of them fly under the radar, but they may have an outsized effect on our state. 1/9/2025
The late, great former President Jimmy Carter’s memorial service was held this morning. We bring you some bits and pieces of the eulogies, as well as a beautiful rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Todd analyzes the behavior of presidents past and present at the event. You can learn a lot from watching the rare moments when these individuals meet. We also take some calls on the legacy of President Carter. At the bottom of the hour, Todd pivots to the ongoing catastrophic wildfires in California. How To Break Through The Noise with Trygve Olson (Hour 2)

1/8/2025
After a break for the holidays, Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project is back to answer your questions. One caller asks Trygve how best to convey the danger of Donald Trump without comparing him to Hitler. This all ties back to psychology. Modern media has changed the way people ingest information, and Trygve breaks down some ways to combat this. Todd and Trygve also ask What’s Worse: spicy or bland? Voter ID Doesn’t Have To Be A Boogeyman (Hour 1)

1/8/2025
It’s Wednesday, and now that everybody has returned from their holiday vacations, we have our usual guests! Trygve Olson will join us next hour, but Pat Kreitlow of UpNorthNews Radio is here off the top to help rein in the chaos. After addressing California’s disastrous wildfires, they discuss the first action by Wisconsin’s State Senate: a ballot initiative to require voter ID. Notably, this is already the law of the land in our state. Todd has a unique perspective on this, as voter suppression is the very issue that pushed him to leave the Republican party. While he isn’t a political consultant, Todd offers some free advice to the Democratic party. He believes that they shouldn’t push against this bill as hard as they are. Ultimately, voter identification isn’t a bad thing. The issue lies in accessibility. If Wisconsinites can easily acquire their ID for free and register to vote, then there is no issue. Meanwhile, if Democrats block this legislation as a whole, it makes it easy to claim that they don’t want to protect against voter fraud. Listen in to hear Todd’s take! What You Should Know About Brad Schimel with Jack Kelly (Hour 1)

1/7/2025
Yesterday, we spoke about the events of January 6, 2021, when insurrectionists stormed the US Capitol in an attempt to stop the presidential election certification. Today, we follow up on bizarre comments from former Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel on The Vicki McKenna Show about that day. Against overwhelming evidence, Schimel claims that the J6 defendants didn’t “get a fair shot.” Schimel intends to run as the conservative candidate this April in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. At the bottom of the hour, Wisconsin Watch Statehouse Reporter Jack Kelly returns to the show to discuss his latest article on Wisconsin’s upcoming Supreme Court election. We Must Not Forget The Insurrection (Hour 1)

1/6/2025
Todd kicks off the new week with updates on sports and weather. Despite a loss against the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers have clinched a spot in the playoffs. In other news, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has resigned as the leader of the Liberal Party. Countries around the world have been showing their dissatisfaction with incumbent governments by voting them out, and Trudeau appears to expect similar results in Canada. Today is the fourth anniversary of the insurrection at the US Capitol. While President-elect Donald Trump’s election certification is proceeding smoothly today, we must never forget the tragedy our nation suffered four years ago. Todd shares his thoughts and takes your calls on how we can move on as a unified nation. We also take a look back at our interview with former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn from June about what he saw that day. The Republicans Take Their Ball And Go Home (Hour 1)

1/3/2025
Today is a very important day for the US government. As we begin our broadcast, the House of Representatives is holding their election for Speaker of the House. The House cannot legally do business without a speaker, so if they don’t have one by Monday, they will not be able to confirm the 2024 election. From his time working for a congressman, Todd is familiar with the inner workings of these votes, and he helps us understand the chaos. Ultimately, the first vote failed with neither Johnson nor Jeffries securing a majority. Hopefully we don’t have a repeat of the Kevin McCarthy fiasco! Todd finishes up our first hour with an examination of the Democratic party’s use of language from Senator Brian Schatz. At the end of the day, the party is too focused on using very particular phrases and words. According to Schatz and people like Ben Wikler, regular people get turned off by things like “Latinx” and “Green New Deal.” Todd wholeheartedly agrees. Breaking Down The First Fox News Lies Of 2025 (Hour 1)

1/2/2025
Welcome to our first live show of 2025! Unfortunately, we must begin the year by covering some tragic events from the last two days. First, Todd updates us on a school bus accident in Sussex that resulted in the death of a kindergartener this morning. Not much is publicly known at this time, but Civic Media will keep us all in the loop. Also this morning, the Wisconsin Elections Commission announced that it will be investigating how the city of Madison failed to process nearly 200 absentee ballots in November’s presidential election. Todd agrees that this investigation is an important step in ensuring election integrity in our state. As you have likely heard, an individual attacked a crowd during New Year’s Eve celebrations in New Orleans. The death toll has reached 15, with dozens more injured. Todd walks us through the known details of this horrific event and how they contrast with a lot of the initial media coverage. While the alleged perpetrator was a US citizen and veteran, Fox News claimed that he was an illegal immigrant and that this only happened because of loose border regulations. If an individual only watches Fox News, their knowledge of this attack is likely completely fabricated. At the end of the hour, Todd briefly touches on tomorrow’s consequential House Speaker election. If Mike Johnson or any other candidate cannot secure the votes, we may have an unprecedented situation on our hands. The House needs a speaker to operate, and the House must operate in order to certify November’s election. Luke Doesn’t Believe In Pre-Tied Bowties (Hour 1)

12/31/2024
Happy New Year’s Eve! As we make our way into 2025, enjoy yourself responsibly. If you plan to drink, make a plan to get home safely without driving. After some discussion on tonight’s upcoming celebrations, Todd shifts to a more serious topic. After what appears to be a triple homicide in New Lisbon, WI, Virgil Thew is considered armed and dangerous. If you know of his whereabouts, do not approach. Instead, please call 911. According to Axios, President-elect Trump has endorsed Mike Johnson to maintain his position as Speaker of the House. With a margin of one vote, this endorsement may not be enough to avoid the chaos that Kevin McCarthy faced earlier this year. At the bottom of the hour, Todd is joined by Civic Media’s own Luke Mathers for some Tuesday Tangents! They talk about where New Year’s Eve sits in their holiday rankings and delve into Luke’s sordid bowtie-related past. Barney Rubble Advocates For Screech Over Slater (Hour 2)

12/30/2024
Todd kicks off our second hour with tributes to Linda Lavin and Greg Gumble, two other legends who passed away over the last week. For today’s edition of What’s Worse, Todd asks us if we’d rather lose our phones or our keys. President-elect Trump has not yet taken office, and the MAGA party is already divided on immigration policy. Elon Musk believes that our country needs to bring in highly skilled immigrants to boost our engineering capabilities. Whether or not one agrees with this approach, it flies in the face of Trump’s “America First” mass deportation rhetoric. Vivek Ramaswamy, the Barney Rubble to Elon Musk’s Fred Flintstone, sees this as a cultural issue. According to him, Americans value jocks over valedictorians. However, when considering the actions of the actors, his example of Slater vs Screech from Saved By The Bell doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. At the bottom of the hour, Civic Media Sports Reporter Mike Clemens calls in to prepare us for some Monday Night Football!
