Ep 03 - The Dignity of Womanhood l Monica Doumit

4/18/2023
“Women play a role that is unique and decisive” - St. John Paul II. He writes beautifully on the vocation and dignity of women and he invites us, women, to discover our own unique genius. He says cultures depend on women to promote a new feminism to understand what constitutes their own unique richness. So, what is “Feminine Genius”? Hosts, Karen Doyle and Von Hosking unpack the “genius of womanhood” with guest Monica Doumit. Monica Doumit is the Director of Public Affairs and Engagement for the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, engaging in policy and communications for issues such as abortion, euthanasia, and religious freedom. She is an adjunct senior lecturer of law at the University of Notre Dame, Australia, and a regular columnist for the Catholic Weekly. She has worked in corporate law and holds degrees in law and medical science, a diploma in finance, and a master's in bioethics. St. John Paul II's idea of complementarity - the idea that men and women are different and equal having unique roles - resonates with Monica. In a world where women are taught to behave like men to have success, St. John Paul II highlighted that women can lead in the way that women do, using all the gifts women have. This is true feminism: women as women in the church, in the home, and in the world. Ep 02 - Overcome Fear and Comparison l Alyssa Agius

4/12/2023
Fear is a powerful source that has the capability to rob us of joy, capacity, and potential. Fear is one of the ways in which the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. If the enemy can get us to doubt ourselves, to doubt the goodness of God and the gifts that He has given us, then he can keep us contained and prevent us from stepping into the fullness of who God has created us to be. Hosts, Karen Doyle and Von Hosking speak with guest Alyssa Agius, a Christian music artist, about the solutions and means to break free from fear and comparison traps. Alyssa Agius is a Catholic musician who established a Top 40 cover act with her husband, Daniel straight out of high school. She has been blessed to combine her love for her faith and music by singing at events and pilgrimages all over the world. After joining the Catholic Influencers Podcast in 2020, she joined the FRG Ministry team in 2021 and heads the podcasts and courses department. Knowing our identity, knowing who we are in God, and knowing that God has created each of us with individual and unique gifts that aren’t repeated in anyone else, allows for God to come in, for us to gravitate to the truth, and to make way for a transformation.
