The Brewers' offensive funk continues while the rotation options overflow, with special guest Dominic Cotroneo. Plus, a conversation with Grant Anderson (05.12.2025)

5/12/2025
The Brewers offense continues to struggle badly through another 3-3 week, but the rotation suddenly has more options than spots. Host JR Radcliffe is joined by special guest Dominic Cotroneo of WTMJ 620 to talk about the playing-through-injury status of William Contreras (and his long-term future in Milwaukee), the roster decisions involving Tobias Myers and Vinny Capra and the curiosity of Chad Patrick. Brandon Woodrufff should be back next week, and Aaron Civale is on the mend. And what about Jacob Misiorowski? Did the Quinn Priester trade get even worse this week? In Three Up Three Down (28:30), they discuss obstruction plays, the struggling bottom-third of the lineup and doubling up the fastest man in baseball. Remembrew When (44:00) looks back at another Mother's Day moment, and Dominic's Take of the Week (47:45) examines something the Brewers did Sunday that they hadn't done all year. Then, JR sits down with Brewers reliever Grant Anderson (52:30) on converting from catcher and the reluctant decision to start throwing from a funky angle. They also chat about his twin brother and their passion for hunting. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.

Right now, the Cubs are clearly better than the Brewers. How can that change? Plus, a conversation with Daz Cameron (05.05.2025)

5/5/2025
The Brewers went 3-3 vs. the two Chicago teams but looked like they misplaced their edge, as manager Pat Murphy put it. The Cubs, right now, are clearly the better team; how can the Brewers narrow the gap? Journal Sentinel reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe break it all down. Another great showing from Freddy Peralta, a litany of starting pitchers on the road to return, very rough showings from Tobias Myers and Quinn Priester and a demotion after a blowup outing for reliever Craig Yoho. Can the offensive struggles simply be alleviated by Christian Yelich and William Contreras turning a corner? What's up with Trevor Megill? In Three Up Three Down (43:30), Tyrese Haliburton is mad about a first pitch, Megill celebrates a great catch with an even better dance and the Shane Smith Revenge Game goes Milwaukee's way. In Remembrew When (1:02:15), it's May Day with a father/son twist and in Curt Blanche (1:07:30), something is missing from the AmFam experience. Then, JR is joined by Daz Cameron (1:17:15), who had a nice day Sunday. They talk of course about his former Brewers father, the 2008 season, a home run on his father's jersey retirement day, getting traded for Justin Verlander and his fresh start with the Brewers. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.

Are we sure this is a good defensive team? Plus: A conversation with Quinn Priester (04.28.2025)

4/28/2025
The Brewers suffered through an ugly 2-5 week in which defensive miscues played a huge role in the losses. What's up with the defense? Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss that, the struggles of Joey Ortiz, the return of Tobias Myers, the injury to Garrett Mitchell and the dawn of Craig Yoho. Two players got benched over the weekend; is that generally a good idea at the MLB level? In Three Up Three Down (46:00), Devin Williams is out as closer in New York and an eventful day for Jackson Chourio. Remembrew When (1:03:00) looks back at another instance of a player getting benched for miscues and Curt Blanche checks in on some interesting Willy Adames comments (1:09:00). Then, JR visits with starting pitcher Quinn Priester (1:13:45), the midseason acquisition who's trying to fortify a hobbled starting rotation. Among the topics: His affinity for the Chicago Bears and the family members who prefer the Packers side of the rivalry. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.

Logan and the Runners: Brewers set franchise record, get two big debuts. Plus a conversation with Jose Quintana (04.21.2025)

4/21/2025
Easter Sunday wasn't quite as good for the Brewers as THAT Easter Sunday, but with an amazing debut from Logan Henderson and a franchise-record haul of stolen bases, it was certainly interesting, and it capped a strong week. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discussed the team's sudden abundance of riches in the starting rotation, including the pending return of Tobias Myers and another rehab outing from Brandon Woodruff. Ah, but what about the bullpen? Another blip from Joel Payamps has the guys wondering how to get Craig Yoho on this roster. Caleb Durbin had a pretty exciting debut in his own right, but has the Brewers' gap at third base been solved? Grant Anderson and Rhys Hoskins have big weeks, as well. In Three Up Three Down (40:15), they check in on Willy Adames and marvel at a couple intriguing Triple-A players as well as yet another one-hitter. In Remembrew When (55:30), JR recalls another memorable big-league debut from a pitcher currently on the roster. And Curt Blanche (1:00:45) brings some baggage to the conversation. Then, JR chats with newcomer left-handed starter Jose Quintana (1:06:30), who already has two wins under his belt with the Brewers. They talk about his well-publicized excellence in his career against Milwaukee, his nontraditional path to the big leagues, that Pete Alonso homer last year, Game 163 and the offseason that brought him to the Brewers. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.

Will there be changes in the bullpen after uneven week out west? Plus: A chat with Jake Bauers (04.14.2025)

4/14/2025
Milwaukee went 3-3 out west and got some encouraging performances from its patchwork starting rotation, so that's good news, right? Bullpen struggles played a role in all three losses, especially for Joel Payamps, and a 4-0 lead lost in the ninth Saturday looms large. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss the bullpen and whether personnel moves are called for. Are we closer to Craig Yoho? They revisit the early-week trade for Quinn Priester and whether or not it was too high a price, plus the other roster move in December that looms over everything. The rotation got lots of good news, including the debut of Jose Quintana, a credible debut for Priester and yet another strong showing by Chad Patrick. Brice Turang just keeps hitting the ball hard and William Contreras may have turned a corner, but what about Rhys Hoskins, Joey Ortiz and Christian Yelich? In Three Up, Three Down (37:20), Tyler Alexander makes a circus catch and Jackson Chourio is chasing a weird bit of Brewers history. In Remembrew When (47:50), we visit one of the many Quintana outings against the Brewers, and Curt Blanche (55:10) has a spicy video-game take. Then, JR sits down with Jake Bauers (59:15), Brewers first baseman, to discuss his path to the big leagues, how seriously he takes his unconventional role as mop-up pitcher and his memories of last year's dramatic playoff homer ... and why he thinks it's a springboard into this season. Music intro from bensound.com. The Brewers end the week at .500, but how do they escape their pitching shortage? Plus, a conversation with Chad Patrick (04.07.2025)

4/7/2025
The Brewers had a great week, particularly because they racked up wins with unexpected starters on the mound after a crazy rash of pitching injuries. Add Nestor Cortes to the list of missing starters, and a roster quirk has the Brewers essentially locked in to the guys currently on the roster for the upcoming series in Colorado. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss the options on the table to survive the pitching shortage, the unlikely performances of Chad Patrick and Tyler Alexander, the struggles of key offensive players and the highly promising signs from Brice Turang. Three Up, Three Down includes plenty of bunting discourse, Remembrew When looks back at a game that went from unlikely no-hitter to shocking nail-biter and Curt Blanche focuses on another major sporting event this week. Then, JR chats with Patrick, the late-spring roster addition who now has worked 10 innings as a starter and allowed only one run. They discuss his Indiana roots, his successful turn in 2024 and the forces that landed him a spot on this year's roster. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.

Brewers open the season with a Bronx thud (03.31.2025)

3/31/2025
The Milwaukee Brewers had a truly ugly start to the 2025 season, allowing 15 home runs over the course of three games to the Yankees and getting blown out twice in an 0-3 start. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe try to find the silver linings ... just kidding, we're panicking. OK, not panicking too much. But a little. The Brewers pitching and its fastball diet gets shelled, Nestor Cortes has a nightmarish debut, Jackson Chourio likewise has a brutal opening day, and a position player winds up pitching on back-to-back days. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln ... at least there's a new dawn this week with seven games at American Family Field, plus a decent start to the season from the offense. Plus: It's the return of our weekly segments: Three Up Three Down looking at the crazy details from the week, Remembrew When revisiting a very different season debut in New York and Curt Blanche opining on the home opener pageantry. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.

3/26/2025
The Milwaukee Brewers roster is set ... kind of? We still have some questions before the team takes on the New York Yankees in the Bronx on Thursday, kicking off the 2025 Major League Baseball season. Journal Sentinel reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe dig through the questions around the position players (Isaac Collins?) and pitchers (Abner Uribe serving a suspension?), plus some opening day trivia, an unusual final meal in Arizona, a Corbin Burnes oddity and how depth has become a significant concern.

3/18/2025
Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss the injury situation in camp for the Milwaukee Brewers, including an oblique that's going to sideline starter Tobias Myers and a shoulder issue for Brice Turang. Does that change the shape of the roster? Who's going to start games for Milwaukee? On the bright side, several players are absolutely mashing, including Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich and Rhys Hoskins. What was Curt's impressions of the young prospects on hand in the Spring Breakout game? Then JR is joined by sports business reporter John Ourand of Puck, formerly of the Sports Business Journal, to discuss the Brewers' television situation with FanDuel Sports Wisconsin. What does it mean that the team went back to FanDuel after agreeing to let Major League Baseball produce their games? What's the long term future of Brewers broadcasting? Will MLB ever reclaim streaming rights for all of its teams?

Is there still a move forthcoming to make this whole thing work? What are some of the biggest stories Curt has been following in his first week in Arizona?
