The Terrible Podcast — Talking Steelers Vs. Chiefs Recap, Inactives, Post-game Quotes, Picks & More
12/26/2024
December 26, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 70 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Thursday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' Wednesday home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and where the team sits currently in the AFC playoff picture. Wednesday's game, on the heels of the Steelers' previous two games, was certainly very depressing and we hit on that early in this show and how the same problems keep showing up these last several weeks. Alex and I go over the pregame inactive list from Wednesday and discuss the decision that was made to sit OLB Preston Smith. We also discuss DT Cameron Heyward getting dinged up with a minor injury during Wednesday’s loss. With the housekeeping out of the way, Alex and I dive into breaking down the Wednesday loss to the Chiefs. We start on the defensive side of the football and discuss the blown coverages, miscommunication, big plays in the game and much more. As part of that, we discuss what several Steelers' defensive players had to say after the game and most notably what S DeShon Elliott said. After tearing through the defensive play from Wednesday, Alex and I move over to the offensive side of the football. We discuss the early interception that QB Russell Wilson threw. We also talk about several key plays from the loss and certain play calls from that contest. We also talk about the running back rotation used, the play of the offensive line, the five sacks allowed and other key aspects from the offensive play. A little bit of special teams play from Wednesday is also discussed in this show. The Steelers seem poised to face the Houston Texans in a Wild Card game if they can beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18. We discuss how that game will be a tough one for the Steelers and how they have plenty of time to prepare for it. We end this show with the rest of our picks against the spread for the remaining Week 17 NFL games. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Vs. Chiefs Preview, Ravens All-22 Notes, Injury Report, Coordinator Comments & More
12/24/2024
December 24, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 69 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they continue to prepare to play the Kanas City Chiefs Wednesday at home on Christmas Day. We go over the Steelers' Monday injury report and highlight the fact that it is looking good that the team will have at least four players that missed the Week 16 game due to injuries back for the Wednesday contest against the Chiefs. We also go over the injury report from the Chiefs and how there’s a chance that DT Chris Jones might sit out Wednesday’s game in Pittsburgh. Steelers coordinators Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin both held their weekly media sessions on Monday, so Alex and I parse the meaningful things that each had to see during his session. After flying through the all-22 tape from the Steelers' Week 16 road loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Alex and I give our observations and recaps of what stood out from that defeat on both sides of the football. Former Steelers WR Diontae Johnson has a new home as of Monday as the Houston Texans claimed him off waivers from the Ravens. We discuss him landing with the Texans and the news that the Steelers did not submit a waiver claim for him. Alex and I then proceed to give our full breakdown and preview of the Steelers' home game against the Chiefs. We go over what we have observed on tape from the Chiefs on both sides of the football. We go over several key stats concerning the Chiefs and how they have managed to compile a 14-1 record to date. We address the things the Steelers need to do on offense and defense to beat the Chiefs at home on Wednesday. Later in this show, Alex and I give our picks for the Wednesday and Thursday NFL games and that obviously includes our final score predictions for the Steelers' game against the Chiefs. This 119-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. 12/23/2024
Dec. 23 – Ep. 39: On this episode of The Depot Dive, Joe and Ross start by going over the important factors that led to the Steelers' 34-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The score looked much worse than it actually was with just a few key plays defining the outcome of the game. We discuss Russell Wilson's key turnovers and how concerned we are with the defense. We also talk about Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris' snap share and more. For the second topic, we discuss the latest injury news including Joey Porter Jr.'s injury against the Ravens. How much trouble is the secondary in without him? We also weigh in on George Pickens' chances of returning for Wednesday with a limited practice on Sunday to start the week. For the third topic, we preview the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite them winning 10 games by one score or less, they are a one-loss team that is defending back-to-back Super Bowl championships. We talk about some factors in the upcoming matchup and give score predictions. We wrap up the show by answering a listener question about the offensive tackle situation for 2025. The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Vs. Ravens Recap, Injury Updates, Tomlin Sunday, Diontae Johnson & More
12/22/2024
December 22, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 68 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Sunday night episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' Saturday road loss to the Baltimore Ravens and where the team sits in the AFC playoff picture. We go over the Saturday inactive list the Steelers turned in and how it included all five players on the injury report. We go over it being a very minor surprise that DT Larry Ogunjobi and CB Donte Jackson did not suit up Saturday and how it resulted in CB Cory Trice Jr. being active. The Steelers sustained injuries to CB Joey Porter Jr. and WR Ben Skowronek in Saturday’s loss, so we discuss what HC Mike Tomlin said about the statuses of those two players on Sunday in addition to him being hopefully to get some injured players back for the Christmas Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Alex and I discuss several other things that Tomlin said during his postgame press conference as well as his Sunday afternoon press conference. We go over what Tomlin had to say about the team possibly having interest in recently waived WR Diontae Johnson. We also give our thoughts on whether there’s a chance Johnson winds up back with the Steelers. After all the housekeeping is out of the way, Alex and I dive deep into recapping the Steelers' Saturday loss to the Ravens. We focus our early talk on the play of the Steelers' defense. We go over the three touchdowns allowed by the defense, the inability to stop Ravens RB Derrick Henry and much more. We discuss the positive play we saw out of a few defensive players on Saturday. After fully dissecting the defense, Alex and I focus on breaking down the play of the Steelers' offense on Saturday. We talk quite a bit about the two turnovers by QB Russell Wilson. We spend a lot of time going over Wilson's fumble. Additionally, we go over the play of Wilson outside of his two turnovers. Alex and I discuss WR Calvin Austin III stepping his game up of late. We also discuss a few play calls from the loss to the Ravens and that includes the deep fourth down pass to start the fourth quarter. We discuss the playing time of RB Jaylen Warren, the running game overall, and much more concerning the offense. Alex and I make sure to talk a little about special teams play from Saturday and several key moments from the loss to the Ravens. This 131-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. December 20, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 67 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they continue to prepare to play the Baltimore Ravens Saturday on the road. We go over the Steelers' Thursday injury report and highlight the fact that the team will not have WR George Pickens on Saturday against the Ravens. We also discuss S DeShon Elliott being doubtful for Saturday’s game and OLB T.J. Watt seemingly being ready to play against the Ravens. Will Watt be on any sort of snap count on Saturday in Baltimore and will the Steelers at least have CB Donte Jackson for this contest? We attempt to answer those questions and also look at what the Saturday inactive list is shaping up to be. The Ravens are also dealing with key injuries at the wide receiver position ahead of Saturday's game, so we go over that topic early in this show as well. Will WR Rashod Bateman play through his foot injury? Will he be impactful even if he does? We discuss his situation ahead of Saturday's game in Baltimore. Steelers coordinators Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin both held their weekly media sessions on Wednesday, so Alex and I parse the meaningful things that each had to see during his session. Alex and I proceed to give our full breakdown and preview of the Steelers' road game against the Ravens. We go over what we have observed in the last few weeks from the Ravens, what the Steelers must do on both sides of the football to win, and much more. The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Hard Knocks Episode Recap, Tuesday Injury Report, All-22 Vs. Eagles, & More
12/18/2024
December 18, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 66 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they start preparing to play the Baltimore Ravens on the road Saturday. With their first official injury report out for the Steelers on Tuesday, Alex and I go over it as we look ahead to which players may or may not play on Saturday against the Ravens. We also go over the recent transactions made by the Steelers on Tuesday as well. A few players comments from both the Ravens and the Steelers are covered early in this show. We discuss how big of a game this upcoming one is for the Ravens and how the Steelers can still win the AFC North should they lose on Saturday in Baltimore. The third episode of AFC North Hard Knocks dropped on Tuesday night so Alex and I make sure to recap all of the notable things to come out of that. We discuss several segments that QB Russell Wilson and HC Mike Tomlin were in. With the all-22 tape from the Steelers' Week 15 road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles now fully digested, Alex and I give our extended thoughts from that game when it comes to offensive and defensive play. We discuss the offensive attack by the Steelers, the scheming of the defense, a few key third downs allowed and a few other significant plays from that contest. The Atlanta Falcons made an interesting decision at the quarterback position on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss that for a bit. We go over what is likely to happen with veteran QB Kirk Cousins and how we don't see him being a good option for the Steelers if they need to find an option other than Wilson or QB Justin Fields. Should the NFL expand to an 18-game season and add to the number of teams that make playoffs? Would fans be in favor of that? We discuss that topic briefly later in this show. This 84-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Vs. Eagles Recap, Injury Updates, Tomlin Monday, Listener Emails & More
12/16/2024
December 16, 2024 - Season 15, Episode 65 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' Sunday afternoon road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and how the team managed to secure a playoff spot despite that. The Steelers sustained a few injuries during their loss to the Eagles with the primary one being to OLB T.J. Watt. We go over the latest updates on his health and the outlook for him potentially playing on Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens. We also go over the other five players dealing with injuries that HC Mike Tomlin talked about during his weekly press conference that took place on Monday. We go over a few other talking points from the Tomlin press conferences from Sunday evening and Monday afternoon. Alex and I then dive deep into breaking down the Steelers Sunday loss to the Eagles. There is a ton to go over when it comes to the offensive and defensive play from Sunday, most of which was bad. We discuss how the Eagles offense decided to attack the Steelers defense and how RB Saquon Barkley didn’t impact the game as much as most thought he would. That came at a cost, however, and we break that down. The Steelers offensive scheme and game plan was quite flawed on Sunday, so we go over that. We also go over the lack of possession time from the Steelers offense and how the unit only managed to get 3 points off of two turnovers. Seemingly bad penalty calls went against the Steelers on Sunday so Alex and I go over those and the impact, or lack thereof, they may have had on the overall outcome of the contest. We also discuss some Tomlin decisions made on Sunday, with one of those being related to a timeout not taken. Several snap counts and stats from Sunday are covered in this episode along with us slowly looking ahead to the Week 16 Saturday game against the Ravens with some worry. This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
