August 25, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 15 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the list of 11 players that the Pittsburgh Steelers parted ways with after their Thursday night 2025 preseason finale. We also talk a little about the updated statuses of several injured players since the final preseason game ended and that includes the positive news concerning rookie DL Derrick Harmon. With the early housekeeping out of the way, Alex and I dive right into our final 53-man roster predictions for the Steelers with the team set to establish that initial unit by Tuesday afternoon. Surprisingly, Alex and I have quite a few differences this year when it comes to our final 53-man roster predictions for the Steelers and perhaps the most since we both have been submitting them on the site. We discuss whether there’s a chance the Steelers might trade away any players by Tuesday afternoon and if QB Skylar Thompson might wind up being one of those players. We also discuss the possibility of the Steelers using a designated-to-return tag on rookie QB Will Howard. Might the Steelers decide to keep four quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster to get Howard to the Reserve/Injured list without the use of a designated-to-return tag? We discuss that question some. The Steelers could look to add some outside help to their roster in the next several days and especially at the tackle and wide receiver positions. Alex goes over the brief list of potential outside tackle additions that he has identified later in this show. Will the Steelers have any boomerang players that go off and then back on their roster in the next several days? We address that question one last time before the initial 53-man roster is set for the 2025 season. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers on the heels of their Thursday night preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. The big topic coming out of the 2025 preseason finale is the knee injury sustained by rookie DL Derrick Harmon. Alex and I discuss how it sounds like the Steelers dodged a huge bullet with the Harmon injury based on the way he looked when he was carted off the field in the first half. We talk about the outlook for Harmon the next few weeks and also go over the other injured players on the Steelers as the team now gets ready for the start of the 2025 regular season in 16 days from today. Steelers CB Beanie Bishop Jr. did not play Thursday night against the Panthers, so we delve into the possible reasons for that surprise happening. We also go over the several other players that did not participate in the team's preseason finale. While the Steelers Thursday night game was sloppy and not overly entertaining, Alex and I still go over what transpired in all three phases. We start on the offensive side of the football and go through all of the position groups and discuss the performances of several different players. We then do the same for the defensive side of the football as well as special teams. Will the Steelers keep QB Skylar Thompson on their 53-man roster after his strong preseason showing? Will they trade him? Is sending rookie QB Will Howard to the Reserve/Injured list as a designated-to-return player the right move for the team to make? We discuss those several questions and go over a few other decisions the team has when it comes to potential trade candidates and use of the Reserve/Injured list. Is second-year DL Logan Lee a lock to make the 53-man roster this year like several believe? Alex and I discuss his roster hopes in this show and also talk about the preseason showing that rookie OLB Jack Sawyer had and even it was disappointing overall. Who won the punter battle this summer? Alex and I aren’t really sure which way that will go but we do have some thoughts on the matter. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the recent transactions made by the Pittsburgh Steelers that included the team parting ways with rookie undrafted free agent WR Roc Taylor. We go over why Taylor might have been jettisoned a few days ago. The Steelers had free agent WR Gabe Davis in for a second visit on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss him reportedly leaving Pittsburgh unsigned once again. We address how Davis would fit with the Steelers if he is ultimately signed and what a contract for him would look like. Ahead of the team's Thursday night preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers, Alex and I go over the health of the Steelers 91-man roster. We discuss a few players we are hoping to learn more about when it comes to their injuries by the time the weekend is over. August 18, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 12 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers bringing in four long snappers for tryouts on Sunday on the heels of LS Christian Kuntz getting injured on Saturday night early in the team's second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccerers. Later in this show, the news breaks that Kuntz might have a broken sternum so we discuss that news and what it might mean for him come the start of the 2025 regular season. We also go over a few things from DL Logan Lee and the long snapping that he did Saturday night after Kuntz left the game injured. Adam Schefter of ESPN passed along the news of the Steelers signing free agent CB Kam Alexander during this show, so Alex and I make sure to pass along that tidbit on this Monday as well.
