On Wednesday, April 2nd, a high school track meet ended in murder, after 17-year-old Austin Metcalf was fatally stabbed. Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old student athlete from Frisco Centennial High School, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in his death. Anthony allegedly confessed to the crime, saying he was "protecting" himself, and asked if the events that took place could be considered "self-defense." In 1976, a young mother was abducted, raped, and tortured by a faceless attacker in Park Hills, KY. For the next 40 years, the survivor was haunted by the attack, until two detectives gave her case new life while investigating a cold case murder. Though the cases weren't ultimately related, they were both solved thanks to faith in God, law enforcement, and a determination to find answers. Detective Coy Cox of the Boone County Sheriff's Office leads Kentucky's only full-time cold case investigative unit.
