Ranking USCFootball.com's Top 30 Most Important Trojans of 2025, 21-30

7/13/2025
Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino are back together for a special behind-the-scenes edition of the Helium Boys Podcast. The Helium Boys work through the process of compiling and debating spots No. 21 through 30 as well as the First Five Out for the initial summer ranking of USCFootball.com's Top 30 Most Important Trojans' list for the 2025 season. For the sixth year in a row, the USCFootball.com staff is counting down the Top 30 Most Important Trojans in a series of offseason articles leading up to the kickoff of fall camp. The series is based off our staff's guesses on the development of returners as well as the value of newcomers as the Trojans' roster comes together after another offseason of turnover under head coach Lincoln Riley. Each USCFootball.com staff member submits his own list of whom he believes will be the most important Trojans. Considerations for the rankings take in a wide range of factors including positional depth, 2024 stats, overall talent, departures from the previous season, projected development and expectations. The only guidance we try to follow is that the most important factor for placement is if this particular player was lost for the season, how detrimental would it be to the team and the overall success of the season. The individual lists are submitted and compiled before Shotgun and Chris come together to sift through the information, debate and assemble the official USCFootball.com rankings. In this podcast, the Helium Boys give you a peek behind the curtain, allowing you to listen in on the first third of the rankings discussion as they debate and settle on the initial summer preseason rankings for No. 21 through No. 30 and the First Five Out (31-35). Tunnel Vision - Get to know USC redshirt freshman linebacker Jadyn Walker

7/12/2025
In this special edition of Tunnel Vision hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio and joined remotely by Trojan second year linebacker Jadyn Walker who came to USC in the class of 2024 out of Portage Northern High School in Michigan. Thanks to House of Victory, the 6-foot-2, 231 pound linebacker out of the heart of Big Ten country joins the show to talk about being recruited to play in D'Anton Lynn's defense, working with new linebackers coach Rob Ryan, his progress this spring, how he has been preparing for fall camp working with new strength and conditioning coach Trumain Carroll and the stiff competition in his position group. USC has limited depth at the linebacker spot and Walker is poised to play a major role in the middle of the Trojan defense. The interview with Walker was conducted in conjunction with House of Victory, an alumni-backed nonprofit collective dedicated to providing a competitive edge in the NIL space for University of Southern California student-athletes. A first look at the top-30 Trojans for 2025 plus Boobie Feaster commitment

7/7/2025
In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio discussing who the top-30 most important Trojans are heading into the 2025 college football season. The USCFootball.com staff was polled and we are revealing the results one by one, starting with defensive back Prophet Brown coming in at No. 30. Please note, considerations for rankings take in a wide range of factors including depth, 2024 stats, overall talent, departures from last season, projected development and expectations. But the most important factor for placement on the list was if this player was lost, how detrimental would it be to the team and the overall success of the season. The crew also talks about how the Trojans landed a Fourth of July commitment from four-star 2026 four-star DeSoto (Texas) wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster, who chose USC over Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M. Feaster is the 31st overall commitment for USC's No. 1 recruiting class and the fifth wide receiver. CLICK HERE for 30% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com! Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts! Tunnel Vision - Get to know USC redshirt freshman defensive end Elijah Newby

7/7/2025
In this special edition of Tunnel Vision hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio and joined remotely by Trojan second year defensive lineman Elijah Newby who came to USC in the class of 2024 out of Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. Thanks to House of Victory, the 6-foot-6, 232 pound linebacker turned defensive end out of New England had a lengthy interview with our hosts, talking about the recruiting process that brought him 3,000 miles away from home to Southern California, making the switch from linebacker to the defensive line, getting some action last season including the Las Vegas Bowl victory over Texas A&M and his growth at his new position this spring. USC certainly needed some help along the defensive front in an attempt to generate more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Moving Newby from linebacker to pass rusher was likely the most impactful move the Trojans made this off-season, giving more depth and speed to the defensive front. The interview with Newby was conducted in conjunction with House of Victory, an alumni-backed nonprofit collective dedicated to providing a competitive edge in the NIL space for University of Southern California student-athletes. An early look at USC opponents Oregon and UCLA plus media day player selection

7/2/2025
In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio continuing our early Trojan opponent previews, taking a look at the Oregon Ducks and the UCLA Bruins. USC travels to Oregon on Saturday, November. 2 with a kickoff time that has yet to be revealed. The Ducks won the Big Ten last season before getting bounced by Ohio State in the CFP. Do our hosts think USC can head into Eugene and get an upset victory? UCLA comes to the Coliseum one week later on Saturday, November 29 for another installment of the crosstown rivalry and no kickoff time has been set. The Rose Bowl was the only Big Ten "road" win for USC last season and the Trojans will try to keep local superiority over the Bruins to end the regular season. The crew also discusses the three players that will represent the Trojans at Big Ten Media Days later in July, wide receiver Makai Lemon, offensive lineman Elijah Paige and safety Kamari Ramsey. Notably absent is starting quarterback Jayden Maiava, who took over the final four games of the season for Miller Moss. CLICK HERE for 30% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com! Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts! An early look at USC opponents Iowa and Notre Dame

6/25/2025
In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio continuing our early Trojan opponent previews, taking a look at the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Iowa comes to the Coliseum on Saturday, November 15 for homecoming weekend, with the game kicking off at either noon or 12:30 p.m. PT. The Hawkeyes have been great on defense, special teams and in the run game, but incompetent passing the football. Can Iowa turn that around one of the worst passing offenses in the country? To do so, offensive coordinator Tim Lester went out and upgraded his receivers and brought in quarterback Mark Gronowski from South Dakota State. USC travels to Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 18 with a kickoff time of 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT. The Fighting Irish are coming off an appearance in the national championship game against Ohio State and are looking to make another College Football Playoffs run. This is the last scheduled game in the long-standing rivalry, one that has been lopsided towards the Irish as of late. What will USC need to do to get its first win in South Bend since 2011? Ryan and Connor also discuss how USC quarterback commit Jonas Williams finished the the Elite 11 Finals, the "Play Like a Trojan" philanthropic event on campus this week hosted by Trojan linebacker Anthony Beavers and the latest open USC basketball practice that included five-star freshman Alijah Arenas addressing the media for the first time, talking about his April late night car crash coming home from a shooting session. CLICK HERE for 50% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com! Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts! Huge official visit weekend for USC football recruiting plus House settlement

6/10/2025
In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio talking about what was a massive weekend for Trojan football recruiting with some of the top prospects from across the country descending on Los Angeles to see what USC has to offer. We will get an update on one of the events from Connor, who, along with Chris Trevino, attended a Saturday night dinner in downtown Los Angeles where the Trojan coaching staff was hosting all of their official visitors. Allowing media to attend a recruiting event is a new phenomena and it gave us a rare look behind the curtain of the USC official visit festivities. The Trojans also picked up another commitment this week, adding to the No. 1 recruiting class for the 2026 cycle. Duluth (Ga.) three-star cornerback Peyton Dyer is the 28th commitment for USC's No. 1 recruiting class and the fifth cornerback commit. Ryan and Connor also talk about the paradigm shift in college football following the ratification of the House Settlement that allows for back NIL pay to former student athletes, limits roster sizes for all sports, allows athletic departments to share revenue with student athletes directly and creates the College Sports Commission to enforce these new "real NIL" rules. Both Ryan and Connor feel that USC is well positioned heading into this new era of college athletics, but there are certainly unchartered waters ahead. CLICK HERE for 60% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com! Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts!
