TRACK STAR STABBED DEAD, SUSPECT WALKS FREE, VICTIM’S ATTACKED, HOME “SWATTED”

4/15/2025
Karmelo Anthony's bond hearing allowed him to walk free after the judge lowered his bond from $1,000,000 to $250,000. This occurred after the family hired new counsel, Mike Howard, a Dallas criminal defense attorney. The defense used the hearing to discuss the character of the accused killer, Karmelo Anthony, highlighting his role as captain of both his high school football and track teams. Described as the oldest of three children, Anthony had never been arrested prior to the murder. His father testified that he worked at Foot Locker, as well as a second job at an H-E-B supermarket, before the stabbing. Prosecutors questioned Andrew Anthony, father of the accused, about why Karmelo Anthony's bond should be reduced, given that the family had already raised over $400,000 from a crowdfunding site. Anthony stated that he has no access to the donated funds and cannot afford to pay the million-dollar bond. Anthony's lawyers argued that the money is not intended for bail but should be used for his legal defense. As the defendant walks free, we learn that the family of Austin Metcalf is dealing with threats and swatting incidents. Metcalf's mother's home was targeted with a false report claiming someone had been shot in the mouth. She was not home when police arrived. MISSING Student Sudiksha Konanki Declared Dead, Last Person to See Her Back in The U.S

4/12/2025
Sudiksha Konanki and five college friends arrived in the Dominican Republic on March 3. They booked rooms at the all-inclusive resort Riu Republica in Punta Cana. A few days later, Sudiksha and her friends were dancing at a disco when the resort experienced a 25-hour power outage in some areas. Some reports say that’s when the group of six women and two men decided to take a moonlight walk on the beach. Surveillance footage shows Sudiksha Konanki and five women, along with two men, walking toward the beach. About an hour later, the footage shows five women and one man leaving. Konanki apparently stayed behind with Joshua Riibe, a 24-year-old spring breaker from the U.S. The next morning, Konanki’s friends went on an excursion she had not signed up for, so they did not realize she was missing. When they returned that afternoon, they discovered they had not seen her since the night before. When they tracked down Riibe, he said he had passed out on the beach and, when he woke up, he was alone. Assuming Konanki had already left, he returned to his hotel room. By then, she had been missing for 12 hours. Dominican Republic authorities questioned Riibe for hours over the weekend, including intense questioning by Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso and Navy Vice Admiral Agustin Morillo Rodriguez. Authorities have confiscated Riibe’s passport, and he is not free to leave. Reports say police escort him wherever he goes. Those restrictions are lifted and now Joshua Riibe is home. GORGEOUS YOUNG HIGH SCHOOL GRAD, PAM, "VANISHES" FROM HOUSTON APARTMENT AFTER "ODD" TEXTS

4/11/2025
It’s been eight long years since the Buckner family has seen or heard from Shapammela Latrisha Buckner. She was just 20 years old when she disappeared from the Houston apartment she shared with her boyfriend just after a neighbor and a family member received concerning texts from Shapammela. They believe Shapammela was involved in an altercation just before she disappeared, but police have released few details of the circumstances of her disappearance. After reports of a disturbance the night before, Shapammela’s landlord stops by to check on her. No one answers, and the landlord finds Shapammela’s door unlocked, so she calls Shapammela’s emergency contact. Family finds all of Shapammela’s belongings, including her phone, purse, ID, and keys are still inside. It’s very strange for Shapammela to go anywhere without those items. When several days have passed with no sign or contact from Shapammela, she’s reported missing, last seen at home the evening of March 21. It’s late Tuesday night when a neighbor of Shapamella’s hears what sounds like an altercation next door. Shapammela should have been home alone that night, so she sends Shapammela a text to see if she’s alright. Shapammela responds that she isn’t okay and she needs help. The neighbor asks if she should call police and Shapammela says yes, but authorities do not make contact with Shapammela that night. Shapammela’s aunt also gets a call from Shapammela, claiming she’s being attacked in her own home! Shapammela’s aunt rushes to the apartment to check on her, but someone else answers the door and refuses to let her inside, saying Shapammela isn’t there. Shapammela doesn’t answer any more texts or calls that night. Houston PD and Texas Equusearch scour the area for Shapammela Buckner, believing she may have left her apartment on foot, but the searches turn up no further clues to her whereabouts. Police interview Shapammela’s neighbor and aunt about what happened that night, then speak with several more possible witnesses. Shapammela’s boyfriend is confirmed to have been on base that night, nowhere near their Houston apartment. 4/9/2025
Disturbing new details have emerged in the torture and murder of 16-year-old Miranda Corsette. Court documents reveal that at least six people knew Steven Gress, 37, and Michelle Brandes, 35, were holding Miranda against her will before she died. Gress allegedly sent photos of Miranda, visibly bruised, to three people, including his mother. She told police she did not view the images but admitted her son tried to talk to her about Miranda. She said she shut down the conversation, telling him she didn’t want to know. At least two neighbors reportedly saw Miranda in distress at the home. A woman who lived with Gress and Brandes witnessed a week of torture, the murder, and the clean-up that followed. The documents also outline a detailed timeline, including a trip to celebrate Brandes’ birthday at a Popeyes restaurant—while Miranda’s dismembered remains allegedly sat in Gress’ trunk. TEACHER: "I WILL THROW UP," STUDENT SEX ABUSE ALLEGED, CLAIMS framed bc so "good-looking"

4/7/2025
A Downer’s Grove, Illinois Mom comes across disturbing text messages as she sets up her 15-year-old son’s new iPhone using a backup from his iCloud account. The contents make her take her son straight to police! It looks like the teen is discussing a sexual encounter with a love interest...his married, 30-year-old teacher, Christina Formella. The student tells police Coach Formella started sending him flirty messages on the school’s chat system when she also became his tutor in the fall of 2023. He explains their conversations moved to text after the teacher gave him her phone number so they could play a game together. There are records of numerous facetime calls between the pair, the victim saying their relationship outside of school culminated in the December rape. Formella denies raping the boy or having a romantic relationship with him, claiming she’s a “good person” and “everybody” comes after her because of her good looks. Formella admits she did develop a close relationship with the student, and “cares too much about him,” but calls him a stalker in the same breath. Formella then insists she did not send the texts, claiming her kindness towards the boy gave him opportunity to break into her unattended phone, send the texts to himself, then delete them off her phone so he could later use the texts as blackmail. Supermom Sherri Papini Admits to Hoax, Now Demands More Time With Her Children

4/6/2025
Sherri Papini is back in court fighting for custody of her children. She wants to be reunited with one child and increased visitation the another. Her ex-husband, Keith, was granted full custody after Papini was charged with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of lying to the FBI. Ultimately Papini pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $300,000 Keith’s defense claims Sherri's actions, perpetuating the hoax that she had been kidnapped, put the children through "hell" and "they could not thrive under her "pathological personality." Sherri Papini admits her 2016 kidnapping was a hoax. The 39-year-old mom was reported missing on November 2, and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint. Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini’s ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time. When Papini accepted a plea deal, she didn't explain why she created an elaborate kidnapping hoax, but did apologized for her actions.
